Ms. Kirstin (KEER-stin) Maxam received her Master’s in Education at the University of Minnesota with dual licenses in Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) and K-12 Special Education. She has experience working with exceptional students and families through her classroom student teaching placements and through working as an in-home Personal Care Assistant (PCA) for many years. Ms. Maxam’s passion is building students up for their unique qualities, partnering with families, and finding creative solutions to make the learning environment enjoyable and fulfilling for every child. Her happiest moments in the classroom are when she sees her students using their skills to solve problems, whether they be academic, social or emotional!
As a Pre-K & Kindergarten special education teacher during the time of Covid-19, Ms. Maxam is committed to supporting her students and their families with empathy, creativity and flexibility. She believes patience and open-mindedness is key to making it through this time and is honored to work with her colleagues and the Dayton’s Bluff community to make each year as successful as possible.
